Health Assurance

The subject will acquaint students with medical branch Urgent Medcine and Medcine of Disaster and principles for pre-treatment medical care providing by ambulance (medical rescue servise). Student will be acquainted with a organizational structure ambulace on the teritorry of the C.R. wth tasks of crews land and air devices and the work of operational centre. The problems of emergency situations of events with medical character and the process during their solutions in pre-treatment phase will be explained. The task and mission of higiene service during floods, large industrial accidents, large nuclear accidents, epidemics, infections dangerous for humans and terroristic biological attacks will be clarified. The pricpile for giving lay first aid will be get througt on theoretical basis and differencies with giving special first aid providing by professional rescuers. Practical excersice for giving lay first aid will be provided.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The students must control the principles for giving first aid for injuries during the accidents, natural disasters and accidents, as well as during affection of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Students must control division of chemical warfare agents according to effects on human beings, consequences of disease from radiation and contamination by bilogical warfare agents.

Aims

To learn the bases of giving medical care and its organisation in the C.R.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The subject is presented in the framework of scheduled lessons. Students graduate practical exercises for giving first aid, they are acquainted with structure of warning, connections and actions of rescue elemements after rescue operations. Each student must show during the credit his/her adoption related giving the first aid and their transport.
