Russian for Beginners.

The course is for complete beginners in Russian.The material is based on developing the communicative competence,especially in listening comprehension and effective reading and writing skills.At the beginning,the ability to write in Russian alphabet is practised systematically.Within the course students are also informed about the country,its culture,customs and specifications.Practising the new material and developing communicative skills is emphasized.

Ability to write in Cyrillic and read it.Response adequately to heard and read situations.Mastering basic grammar structures and using them in speaking and writing activities.Ability to communicate in common everyday situations.

Lesson 1-12 -introduction to Russian,first steps with the Cyrillic and pronunciation
Practising writing skills in Cyrillic and pronunciation,basic language structures
Further practising of basic patterns in speaking
Greetings,basic numerals,specifications of stress
Meeting and introducing,intonation of questions and affirmative sentences
Telephoning,making a date,specifications of forms of address
Giving personal information,verb conjugation in present tense,forming negative with verbs
Making an invitation,thanking,apologizing; further numerals and the case of nouns coming after numerals
Expressing of enjoyment and wonder;female gender nouns,personal pronouns
Explaining misunderstandings;future tense,further numerals
More personal information;possessive adjectives,shifting stress with verbs
Changing intonation according to the meaning of the sentence;verb conjugation;revision

Lesson 13-21-invitation(accepting and rejecting);I and II verb conjugation
Giving information about spending leisure time;conjugation of reflexive verbs
Weekly programme;verb conjugation
Going to the theatre and cinema(invitation); ordinal numbers

Address writing,answering to advertisement; intonation of various types of questions
Enrolling to language course,finding the way round the building;past tense;the polite form of addressing people
Asking and giving answers about study;pronoun and noun declension
Asking the way and giving directions,means of transport;gender of nouns
Going shopping;verb conjugation,pronunciation of preposition patterns
Expressing possibility,impossibility and prohibition,cause and comparison,nouns which do not declinate
Expressing enjoyment and regret,travelling impressions;intonation of complex sentences.General revision
