The course is concerned with the following topics: The basic approach to the nonindustrial automation. Components and automation equipments for nonindustrial automation. The different areas of nonindustrial automation such as: - control of energy in buildings - safety systems - automotive automation - public information systems - domotic systems - robotics systems - communication bus interfaces - etc. Benefits of nonindustrial automation. Typical nonindustrial automation systems by SIEMENS, Schneider Electric, etc. The course is a follow up to the course entitled Industrial Automation.

Students are assumed to have the following knowledge -Theory of Automatic Control -Hardware and Software Industrial and Office Personal Computers -Programmable Logical Controllers -Data Transfer and Computer Industrial Networks -Architecture of Microprocessors

The course objective is to make students familiar with goals and purpose of nonindustrial automation, nonindustrial automation components, and with nonindustrial automation system design.
