Art after 2000 (summer)

This course is a follow-up of the Art after 2000 winter course. In the seminars, students will present papers on the topics they chose during the winter semester.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student are able to work with available information sources on contermporary art and will describe, analyze, or interpret the chosen topics. On their seminar presentations, they demonstrate the ability to choose and order information and choose an adequate way of their presentation.

Prerequisites

Students must have a god knowledge in 20th century art and have attended and gained credits from the Art after 2000 winter course.

Classified term paper.

Course curriculum

Individual seminars are based on students' presentations of their papers and the following discussion. During the semester, students will present the progression of their term paper preparation. The papers are presented in topical blocs. During the semester, current art events (exhibitions and their critical reflections) are discussed.

Students will get a better knowledge of current trends in contermporary art, importatn personalities and events.
