Theory and Aesthetics of Architecture

Three components of architecture - space, form and mass - as reflected in philosophy. The need for and emergence of architectural criticism, forms of evaluating a work of architecture, object of architectural criticism. Function of architectural criticism, problems of subjectivity and objectivity in architectural criticism, criteria of evaluation. Fundamental factors of architecture and the variability of their interrelations. Scientific cognition of the world, artistic cognition of the world, specificity of the present time. .
Architecture as synthesis of science and art , specificity of architecture.
Philosophy of space, monumental archetype , European space, oriental space.
Reflection of the idea of universal space in architectural space, exact and elastic function.
Philosophy of space and mass, model of the cosmological structure of the world, micro- and macrostructure.

Combined written and oral examination. Point assessment reflects the depth, the extent and the graphic skill evidencing the individual attitude to architecture.

Deepening the knowledge of theoretical and aesthetical categories, which help understand the evolution of the architectural expression with regard to social changes.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
