Student will manage basics of water collection, technology of water treatment, wastewater collection, technology of wastewater treatment.

Course curriculum

1.Technical solution of water treatment plant technology – one or more step separation.
2.Variety in captation and treatment of groundwater and surface water. Main technological elements.
3.Disinfection of water. Water quality requirements.
4.Water demand, methods of evaluation, essential concept of water supply system.
5.Reservoirs and pumping stations, build structure of these objects.
6.Pipe materials, fittings and objects on water network.
7.Project documentation of water supply system.
8.Sewerage and urban drainage. Types of wastewater. Amount determination of individual kind of wastewater. Amount of rain wastewaters determination in relation with modern processes of drainage. Calculation techniques of basic method formulation of amount of discharged wastewater.
9.Hydraulics of sewage systems, minimal slopes and maximal velocities. Materials of sewerage systems. Hydrology of sewerage systems. Object on sewerage systems. Water-tightness of networks.
10.Classical techniques of formulation static stress of sewage profiles. Regulations. Basic legislative details in sewage system field and urban drainage.
11.Preamble to wastewater treatment subject, technological schemes of WWTP, screens, grit chamber, sedimentation tank.
12.Biological wastewater treatment, composition and characteristics of activated sludge, modification of activated process, trickling biological filter and rotated biocontactors.
13.Nitrogen and phosphorus in wastewater, removal, amount and source of sludge, thickening, sludge stabilization, dewatering and final processing of sludge.
14.Head mark.
