Utilizations of ecological energetic sources

Renewable energy sources - water, sun, geothermal energy, biomass, wind, actual estate, advantages and disadvantages, future. perspectives. Usage of streams energy in small hydro power plants. Solar heat, collectors, heat pump, solar power plants. Electricity from soil heat, heating by means of the ground water. Wind power plants in Czech Republic and in other countries. Tidal power plant and wave motion, usage of temperature gradient. Usage of the unused heads of the hydro-technical conduits. Utilisation of primary hydro-energy potential of the compensation waters.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student will acquire the overview of balance of prime and secundary energy sources in the world and CR. Possibilities of influencing of renewable energy sources exploitation are the main aim of the coure. Possible savings of energy consumption by increasing efficiency of hydroenergy cycles is the second aim of the course.

1. Energy sources. Potential resources in CZ and in the world.
2. Progress in energetic in CZ and in the world, structure of power plants.
3. Electrification system in CZ, diagrams of loading, connection of electrification system
4. Usage of solar heat, barrier layer photocell.
5. Wind power plant.
6. Heat pump, usage of soil heat.
7. Tidal power plants, energy of waves.
8. Stream water energy utilisation – potential resources.
9. Division of water power plants, basic hydro-energetic solution.
10. Types and levels of runoff management for hydro-energy. utilisation, constant-load and peak-load hydro power plants.
11. Water turbines – types, rules of selection.
12. Usage of residual heads at hydro-technical conduits.
13. Utilisation of primary hydro-energy potential of the compensation waters. Pumped storage hydroelectric plant, operating mode, efficiency
