Rehabilitation of Water and Sewerage Networks

The subject deals with conception problems of solving rehabilitation of water management pipe systems (water mains, sewerage). Planning methods, survey methods of current conditions. Overview of trenchless technology methods use for rehabilitation of water mains and sewerage systems focused on local repairs, general repairs of networks and new line and repairs of objects. The main themes of subjects are: overview of related standard specifications of legislation and standardization projects, systems of water and sewerage networks, material and diameter of water and sewerage networks, maintenance, information about current status of water and sewerage networks, classification of failures and appreciation, service life, methodology of failure removal, initial phase of works before rehabilitation, service availability of system, exploratory survey, conceptual solution of rehabilitation, rehabilitation methods, static and hydraulic interpretation of original and rehabilitated pipeline, special material and technology used for rehabilitation of water and sewerage networks, methods used and constructions build in the Czech Republic.

Student will manage to design of restoration plan and technical design and planning of rehabilitation of water and sewer networks and design of nodig rehabilitation technologies.

1. Introduction, summary of related standards, laws and regulations
2. Conceptual solving of rehabilitation of water supply network and sewerage network, maintenance and cleaning
3. Special substance and pipe materials
4. Survey and failures on drains and sewers, classification of failures
5. Advance workings before rehabilitation, preservation of serviceability of system, selection of methods
6. Repair of drains and sewers
7. Renovation of drains and sewers
8. Replacement of drains and sewers
9. Rehabilitation of shafts and objects on sewerage networks
10. Infiltration and ex-filtration
11. Survey and failures on water-supply networks
12. Rehabilitation of water supply networks
13. Safeness and protection, assessment of availability and selection of methods
14. Rehabilitation in CZ and abroad
