The term “quality” and its historical development, the term “quality” in the civil engineering, the history of systems of the quality management (SQM). Standards ČSN EN ISO 9000 and continuing – overview. The certification and accrediting system in the CR and in the EU, the responsibility for the product. Methods of the implementation of the quality management system in the building firm. The analysis of requirements of the standard ČSN EN ISO 9001 exercised in the building firm. The application of principles “the orientation on customers ”and “the process outlook” in the building firm. Basic information about environmental management systems according to the ČSN EN ISO 14001 and their application in the building firm. The quality management in the project management according to the ČSN EN ISO 10006. The quality management in experimental and calibration laboratories according to the ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. SW for the support of the quality management.

Knowledge about development of quality management systems and about actual standards that controls their application in construction firms.

Knowledge of basic business economics with respect to organization and management of construction firm and construction project management.

Course curriculum

1. Introduction, the term “quality” in systems of quality management (“SQM”), history of the SQM.
2. Standards ČSN EN ISO 9000 and continuing – overview.
3. Certification according to the standards ISO 9000, accrediting system in the Czech Republic and in the European Union. Legislation of the EU in the area of responsibility for the product.
4. Methods of the implementation of quality management systems.
5. Documentation management as a basic element of the SQM.
6. Duties of the management in the SQM according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001 in the building firm. The application of principles “the orientation on customers”, “the process outlook” in the building firm.
7. Sources management in the SQM according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001
8. The product realization in the SQM according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001 in the building firm.
9. The measurement, the analysis and the improving in the SQM according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001.
10. The auditing of the SQM according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001
11. Environmental management system in the civil engineering according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001
12. The quality management in the project management according to the ČSN EN ISO 9001
13. The quality management in experimental and calibration laboratories according to the ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. SW for the support of the quality management.
