Mechanization and realization of railway structures

Construction of transport structures, fundamentals of track technologies. Construction demands and parameters of track machines. Hand-held equipment for maintenance of rails, sleepers, rail fastening, for justification geometry components and track alignment, other hand-held equipment.
Geometry deterioration, reasons and remedial actions.
Special vehicles for person transport and material transport. Machines for removing of snow and vegetation.
Machines for maintenance and renewal of railway superstructure (ballast cleaners, tamping machines, machines for sleeper replacing, ballast regulators).
Compacting machines for ballast bed and dynamic track stabilizer.
Welding machines, rail grinding machines, rail reprofiling machines. Machines for maintenance and renewal of railway substructure.
Measuring and diagnostic systems. Complete technology for track maintenance and renewal.

A student acquires skills in construction of transport structures, fundamentals of track technologies, machines, measuring and diagnostic systems.

Prerequisites

Basic terms, division of railway structures. Track alignment design parameters and its spatial positions – basic terms.
Railway track design and subdivision and construction of rail substructure and its construction layers

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of construction of transport structures, fundamentals of track technologies, machines, measuring and diagnostic systems and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.
