Professional Practical Training

Professional practical training is an important part of the academic education in the Bachelor‘s Degree Programme – Architecture of Building Constructions. The aim is to acquire basic knowledge of economic, procedural and legal relations within the professional environment, to acquire basic experience with the legal and aethic rules issuing from the architect – client and employer – employee relations, and to acquire basic awareness of duties and professional resposibility as a component part of the qualification in the profession.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will manage the goal of the subject, i.e. knowledge of the professional environment, mechanism of a design process, an employer, a client, economic, procedural and legal relations.

Prerequisites

The professional practical training acknowledges and proves the summary of all the knowledge acquired during the previous theoretical study.

Course curriculum

Professional practical training is performed in a design office under the supervision of an expert architect for 1 semester, i.e. 13 weeks. The performance of the training is checked by an appointed teacher of the faculty. A student gets the professional practical training acknowledged after submitting the following documents:
- designer’s diary
- monthly work reports confirmed by the employer
- project documentation worked out by the student himself / herself.
The performance of the training is in accordance with the special dean’s direction. The training can be performed abroad provided the matter is consulted with the appointed teacher.
