The subject focuses mainly on the area of the system of pedagogical sciences, on basic pedagogical terms, on an overview of educational institutions, on the aims, contents and means of education and on the process of learning.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students gain theoretical knowledge of general pedagogy and didactics. Become familiar with the patterns of the teaching process, teaching methods, organizational forms, didactic principles and other aspects of traditional and alternative education. Through general pedagogical knowledge to learn how to solve basic problems of education in the area of physical training

Prerequisites

Basic orientation in pedagogy at high school level.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Form of the examination and final classification of the subject:
Credit: The credit is awarded on the basis of attendance at the lectures and active participation in them (papers, demonstrations, self-study).
Active presentation (30 points)
Exam: Knowledge test (70 points)
Grading Scale: A - F (1-4)

Examination: test (70 points)
Klassification: A - F (1 - 4)

Course curriculum

1. What is education? Education as a science. Historical and developmental changes in pedagogy.
The system of pedagogical sciences. School pedagogy. Publications in the field of education.
2. The basic pedagogical concepts - education, education, teaching, school, education, family
and school, society and education. Components of education. The dichotomy of education.
3. The education system in the Czech Republic. The curriculum and its relevance to contemporary pedagogy, the Framework
and educational program, school management, management in schools.
4. Traditional and alternative education, educational communication and interaction, value
orientation of students. Goal, content and means of education.
5. Theory of interpretation of the teaching process. Choice of subject matter and its structuring. Didactic principles.
6. Teaching methods - an overview and classification. Characteristics of methods. Activation methods.
Organizational form of teaching. Didactic resources.
7. Anthropogenic factors of education, the role of teacher and student in the classroom, teaching environment, idealization
state.
8. Specific features of physical education.
9. Social role of trainer, coach, organizational employee.
10. Education and sport.
11. Leisure education.

Aims

The subject focuses mainly on the area of the system of pedagogical sciences, on basic pedagogical terms, on an overview of educational institutions, on the aims, contents and means of education and on the process of learning.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The subject consists of lectures, which are compulsory. The subject will be concluded with an test. Any absence must be duly excused and substituted for after agreement with the head of the subject.
