The course addresses the problem of etiquette and rhetoric provides information and develops students’ skills in the area of communication in person or in a written form.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with the modern attitude to doing presentations. They will be able to participate in creation and application of tools intended for public speach.Students will be able to speak in front of an audience and will be familiar with the rules of etiquette.

Prerequisites

The knowledge of doing business – types of business companies, tools of management, theory of behaviour of company, theory of behaviour of customers, international business manners.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

1.Participation in the exercises
2. Fulfilling the assignment and submitting written reports of required content and form.
3. Test in written form.
Student has to demonstrate his/her ability to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice.

Aims

Globalisation of economy brings new challenges, which the coming generation should be able to solve using the knowledge of rhetoric anf etiquette. Case studies which are a part of exercises should help students to solve practical dilemmas in comunication.
