Multimedia

The course multimedia is a focused on detailed description of modern methods used in compression algorithms for image and video, security of multimedia content by means of watermarking techniques, principles of multimedia data transmission in IP networks, and finally the principles of indexing and retrieval in large multimedia databases according to the MPEG-7 standard.

The students will acquire the knowledge of advanced methods of multimedia digital signal processing and methods of their delivery in heterogenous network environments.

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

Aims

The aim is to give students enough information for orientation in the field of image and video processing, security, transmission of multimedia data in IP networks, indexing and retrieval of multimedia data in multimedia databases.
