The course deals with all aspects of the proposal, projection and practice of electrical installations of building with respect to safety.
Students have to work up simply project.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Fundamental knowledge of a line connection, calculation of the current rating of conductors, protection against overcurrent, protection against electric shock, lighting protection and overvoltage protection. Facility of the electrical installations projection and installation documents creation.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is required.

Aims

Learn to propose of electrical installations of buildings with european regulations and standards.Get a survey of wiring systems ,conductors,devices and equipments for electrical installations.

Fundamental principles of electrical installation of buildings. Standards and regulations.
Assessment of the general characteristics of wiring systems and exterior influences.
Line connection. Calculation of the current rating of conductors. Voltage drop.
Distribution circuit and consumption electrical equipments
Final circuits of lamps, socket outlets and another current using equipment.
Protection against overcurrents.
Protection against electric shock.
Projection of the electrical installations and creation of the installation documents.
Lighting protection. Earthing arrangements.
Overvoltage protection of electronic equipments.
Electrical installations in/on combustible materials and in hollow walls.
Electrical installations in the dangerous locations.
Electrical installations by European Installation Bus standard.
