Reliability 1

The subject is focused on the most advanced knowledge of technical system reliability. Emphasis is laid on the definitions and basic terms, reliability management and reliability indicators of unrepaired and repaired objects. Furthermore, attention is devoted to technical system reliability, general procedure of reliability analysis, tools for reliability enhancement, operating reliability, maintenance significance during operation of technical systems, operating reliability evaluation, reliability tests, information systems for reliability, and standards and legislation about reliability.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

A student acquires comprehensive and complex knowledge of technical system reliability which can apply in industrial mechanical/electrical engineering practice to solve different problems related to the aforementioned topics.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of mathematics and physics at a level of university study. Also, the knowledge of the aforementioned special field in a scope of the previous bachelor study is expected.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The methods of teaching depend on the teaching practice, and those are described in the Study and Test Guideline, Article 7, at Brno University of Technology.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The subject consists of lectures and tutorials. The tutorial will be completed by credit. To receive the credit, the 100% active participation of the student in tutorials will be required. The examination is based on a written test, and the student may achieve the scoring of up to 100. The final scoring rate of the test shall be classified according to the ECTS grading system.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to acquire the knowledge of technical system reliability.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The student attendance is checked in tutorials (presence and activity). The 100% participation in tutorials is required, and in case of absence, the student will be obliged to compensate, the alternative attendance will be specified by the lecturer.
