Organisation and Management of Manufacturing Plants

Classification system of decisive industrial technologies and plants in the production of building materials. Structures of management and the main production activities in building materials plants. Auxiliary activities in the plant, energy and materials supply, storekeeping, logistic.
Work principles, management, workload, safety and health protection, protection of information.
Methods of production rationalization, technological innovations. Effectiveness of standard and technological innovations. Principles of automatic control of decisive technological production processes of building materials.
Stability of technological operations, possibility of statistical methods application, failures analyses, prevention, control activities. Integrated control systems, application possibilities in building industry.
Technical demands and the responsibility of manufacturers for products, organization and legislative measures. System of complex quality control of technological operations. Ecologically oriented management systems of industrial production management. Operation in building material plants and the environment.
Building of a new plant, the approval legislative, projection, attendant circumstances of putting it into operation. The position of building materials plants from the point of view of legislative demands of the EU.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Absolvent of the course:
is able to have basic orientation concerning the organization and functional structure of plants and enterprises for building materials production including the position and graduates assertion of the technological branch SMI.
Is understanding the importance of progressive management methods including the support of technological and products innovation and the problems of plants modernization.
Has knowledge of legislative in connection with technical demands on products, responsibility of manufacturers and importance of building industry as permanent customer .
Is able to describe importance of quality management, environment protection and security in plants.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of firm economics, systematic knowledge of binder production technological processes, ceramics and concrete.

Co-requisites

Building Law.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Information is presented to students in the form of lectures.
Students work in seminars on assigned tasks in teams and then presents the results in the form of protocols. Students are required to calculate specified exercises individually, the correctness of which is verified by supervisor of seminars.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit – attendance at seminars, submission of finished team tasks, credit test (pass mark at least 60 %) and credit task (pass mark at least 60 %).
The final exam consists of a written and oral part.

3.Auxiliary activities in the plant, power and material supply, stores management, logistics.
4.Principles of work management, workload, safety and protection of health, fire protection, information protection.
5.Management Systems. Personal management (power fo paradigma, role of habits).
6.Management tools and communication.
7.Leadership Development (Bender, Bennis, Covey.
8.Methods of production rationalization, technological innovations. Effectiveness of standard and technological innovations.
9.Principles and importance of decisive technological operations automatic control in building materials manufacture. Stability of technological procedures, possibilities of statistical methods application.
10.Analysis of failures, prevention, technical control activity, significance of metrology in building materials production and in building production. Integrated control systems, application in conditions of building materials production and in the building production.
11.Technical requirements for products, responsibility of manufacturers for products, organisational and legislative securing. Complex quality control system of technological processes.
12.Operational specialities of building materials production. Environmentally oriented control.
13.Building of a new plant, legislative of approval, projection, conditions of putting into operation.Position of building industry plants from the legislative demands of the EU point of view.

Basic orientation concerning the organization and functional structure of plants and enterprises for building materials production including the position and graduates assertion of the technological branch SMI – Understanding of progressive management methods importance including the support of technological and products innovation and the problems of plants modernization.
