Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students understand problems of energy performance of air-conditioning systems during operation and maintenance. Students gain information on modern elements of heating systems and their control systems. They will be able to elaborate demand for private sewage treatment plant. Students gain knowledge on private water supply for building evaluation from energy consumption point of view. Students will be able to use this knowledge for complex problems solution of their diploma works.

Prerequisites

Plumbing, heating and air-conditioning systems of buildings.

Co-requisites

Applied physics for Building Services.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. The lectures include elaboration of basic principles, design methods and standard cases solutions. During practices the students practice calculations according to individual assignment.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Compulsory attendance at practices. Recommended attendance at lectures. Protocols submission in the credit week. Fulfilment of written exam at a satisfactory grade.
