Specialized project II

FAST-CW08Acad. year: 2012/2013

The Specialized Project II course is a continuation of previous Specialized Project I and Diploma Thesis Seminar courses. The students will continue in their construction technology project for a building construction. The elementary material is construction documentation and already elaborated technical construction study and the project of construction organization. As the outcome will serve selected parts of contractor production building preparations, which enable its quality, economical and safe construction, and optimal solutions.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will acquire knowledge and practical skills for contractor's production preparation documents writing. This is mostly the knowledge and its verification on a particular elaborated technical report for a construction technology project, elaborating of a detailed construction time plan, technological regulation, control and trial plan, and plan of safety and ecological risks.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of designing and projecting of building constructions, road constructions and engineering networks is necessary. Knowledge of construction processes execution, the requirements for its preparedness before the execution, principles of technological processes of the individual building processes, their sequence and continuity, quality requirements. Modeling of technological and time structure of the partial building processes, production space and resources necessary for the execution with the use of computer technology. Knowledge necessary for elaboration of construction technology study.

Co-requisites

Progressive simultaneous acquisition of new knowledge from the field of partial construction processes, building machinery and the use of building computer programs.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching will take place as regular consultations with the teacher, individual elaboration of the assigned project documentation and presentation of the finished parts of the project.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The requirement for successful termination of the course is obligatory attendance and regular consultation of the finished assigned parts of the construction technology project, which is elaborated as a part of the student’s diploma thesis. To obtain the credit the student has to hand in the elaborated assigned parts for the construction technology project of the designed building.

Course curriculum

1. Processing of bill of quantities of the planned construction
2. Calculating the price calculation and quotation budget by means of computer and determined SW.
3. Processing of the time schedule of the construction in a determined form (Gant graph, network graph, time-spatial diagram).
4. Expressing in numbers all necessary sources
5. Elaboration of inspection and test plan of construction
6. Design and dimensioning of site plant, optimising
7. Design and dimensioning of operational and hygiene site camp
8. Elaboration of the site facilities plan – layout drawing
9. Elaboration of workshop drawings of determined buildings of the site facilities, or given technology formula
10. Technical report for construction-technology design
