Institute of Building Structures (PST)

Aim of the course Diploma seminar is to prepare students for further continuation of the course project CH06 Specialized (S-PST) in the winter semester of 2nd year master's degree program for the processing of the thesis. Students prepare two studies buildings for different purposes. For these building prepare a floor plans, sections and looks at a scale of 1:100 and the situation of construction. Graphic part complement the text part in the form of technical reports on the construction part.

The prerequisite for graduating are theoretical knowledge of building structures overview and the ability to combine knowledge from previous courses Civil Engineering I., II., III., Science buildings, concrete and masonry structures, Selected articles from supporting structures, technological structures, wooden buildings, Building Physics and Building Materials

It is assumed theoretical construction and design overview and the ability to combine knowledge from previous study of a particular problem.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesses the individual of student's approach to the assignment and its rationale for choosing the appropriate method of solution. Seminar workwill contain a description of the problem, possible solutions and their assessment and conclusion. Evaluation criterion is the the effectiveness of solutions, its application a graphical treatise reports.

The first week enter the work task and draft terms of reference
During 2th to 3 weeks to study and obtain the necessary documents for the construction of a typology of operational solutions, under which may proceed to the volume of construction in the draft to the consultation
During the 4th to 10 week of layout architectural and building design interrelated and consultations of the proposed solution
11th week consultation text technical reports
12th final correction
13th administration of assigned papers to evaluation.
