Learning outcomes of the course unit

Orientation in theoretic pedagogic and didactic terminology, processes and paradigms used for enginners who want to be in educational resort. This course meets with foundation of teacher´s profession. It is suitable for students who think about teacher´s job in future or who want to teach in specialised school externally. Knowledge of didactic principles in education of specialised subjects. Theoretic view to realisation of teaching process in specialised technical subjects at the secondary schools.

Prerequisites

Common orientaition in pedagogy and didactics for enginneers, communication ability in education reality and in public places, managing of the fever, recognising of some teaching methods from teachers, description of main didactic principles, knowledge of basic organizational forms of teaching, ability to preparing for public performance, ability to create elementar research in education reality and their working, trying to meet with education reality.

Co-requisites

Knowledge of specialised sciences, experience in study, specifics and peculiarities in specialised subjects, knowledge of civil engineering theory and praxis, practical teaching, experiments and training, covering of experiment results, experience with school assessment, presentations and theoretical tests, study literature, teaching methods in specialised subjects, didactic aids, modern didactic technology, analysis of education, ability to evaluate educational process of other teachers.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Explanation is passed by word-teaching method in the form of lectures accompanied by the rich presentation material. Lectures and other materials beyond the recited topics student can find in LMS Moodle. Basic theoretical topics are spread of voluntary topics according to student's interest; every student prepares either one's presentation from pedagogy.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students show their orientation in theoretical and applied pedagogy in the test from theoretical part. They also prepare a presentation of chosen topic from the area of general or applied pedagogy. In practices students do pedagogical training as an imitation of secondary school's teaching which is followed by analysis of mistakes. Summary evaluation of students consists of the testing of student's theoretical knowledge (50%), presentation (30%) and managing of teacher training (20%).

2. General and special didactics, didactics of specialised subjects. History of pedagogy.
3. The curriculum and its importance for pedagogy. The modern curriculum and its implementation in teaching praxis.
4. The teaching process and its fundamental nature. Didactic principles and rules. Selection and structuring of subject-matter.
5. Lesson types and structures. Phases of teaching. Types of teaching.
6. Teaching methods - summary and classification. Activising teaching methods.
7. Didactic aids. Organizational forms of teaching.
8. The education aims. The preparation of a teacher for teaching. Administration in the education system.
9. Pedagogical diagnostics, pedagogical evaluation and the creation of didatic tests.
10. Literature with a didactic function. Educational texts, their analysis, creation rating and optimisation.
11. The personality of an educator and the theory of teaching profession. Professiogram of a teacher of specialised subjects.
12. Anthropogenic members of education. Traditional and alternative systems of teaching.
13. Specifics and peculiarities of the teaching process in specialised subjects.
