Nuclear energetic equipments

The subject is intended for students who want to work in nuclear power engineering. The subject covers constructional, economic, ecological and operational properties of energy machinery of nuclear power plants, its mutual interaction, its operation and maintenance, economical utilization, analysis of the influence of faults of the systems on the operational indices and the economy of the operation of power-generating plants.

Knowledge concerning energy machinery of nuclear power plants, its operational and energetic characteristics, operation and maintenance.

The subject knowledge on the secondary school level is required.

Steam and gas cycles of nuclear power plants. The theoretical elements of thermal power engineering. Heat transfer of nuclear reactors. The elements of nuclear engineering. Nuclear power plants with water-cooled reactors. Nuclear power plants with boiling reactors. Nuclear power plants with gas-cooled reactors. Nuclear power plants with liquid-metal-cooled reactors. Pumps and blowers of nuclear power plants. Heat exchangers of nuclear power plants. Steam generators of nuclear power plants. Steam turbines of nuclear power plants and theirs equipment. Safety of operation of nuclear power plants.

The objective of the subject is to make students familiar with basic information concerning the energy machinery of nuclear power plants.
