CISCO academy 1 - CCNA

The course is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the CCNA1 curriculum – fundamentals of IP networking. The second deals with the CCNA curriculum – routing in IP networks. Practicals include planning and implementation of small and middle size IP networks.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student should be able to:
- describe basic entities for IP communication,
- describe OSI reference model,
- explain purpose and principle of communication protocols,
- calculate IP addressing schemes,
- describe Ethernet technology,
- implement IP network using routers and switches,
- explain operation of router,
- configure router,
- explain static and dynamic routing,
- implement IP network working with static and dynamic routing.

Prerequisites

Students should be able to work with English literature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching methods include lectures and practical laboratories. The course uses e-learning system Moodle.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The student is assessed using two tests. The content of the first test is derived from the CCNA1 course. The content of the second test is derived from the CCNA2 course. Both tests have to written at 70% and more. The scores from the tests are averaged and recalculated to BUT points.

12) Function of routing table.

Aims

The goal of the course is to introduce IP networking to the students. The students will gain knowledge about the principle and purpose of the networking devices.

Network traffic analysis, web server administration, default gateway and default route, ARP protocol, switching table, subnet calculation, router configuration, management of network devices configuration, static routing configuration, configuration of dynamic routing protocols: RIP version 1, RIP version 2, EIGRP and OSPF.
