Anatomy

The course focuses on the acquisition of basic knowledge of building structures and the human locomotion system and the knowledge of buildings and structures of organs and systems of man. This knowledge is necessary to study related subjects in the present bachelor's degree program.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The subject focuses on the gaining of basic knowledge of the construction and structure of the human locomotive system, and knowledge of the construction and structure of human organs and systems.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of human biology at secondary school level.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Awarding of credit:
Credit: Presence at lectures (80 %) and successful completion of two continuing control tests (in the 6th and 9th week of the semester) and active participation in practical lessons.

Form of the examination and the final classification of the subject:
Examination: Written test (100 points).

- Introductory lecture, morphology of the locomotive system.
- Cell, tissue, anatomical terminology.
- Bones, joints - general studies: description of bones, composition, connection, joints, types of joints and their biomechanics. (Martinková)
- Special theory on bones and joints: description of the individual bones and joints. (Martinková)
- General theory on muscles: composition, shape, terminology, biomechanics. (Martinková)
- Special theory on muscles: description of the individual muscles (origin, insertion, function, innervation). (Martinková)
- Anatomy of the construction and structure of human organs and systems. (Adámková)
- Cardiovascular system: heart, blood vessels - construction, function. (Adámková)
- Respiratory system: construction, function. (Adámková)
- Digestive system: individual organs, composition, function. (Adámková)
- Endocrine system: construction, function, effect on other systems. (Adámková)
- Nervous system: CNS, peripheral nervous system - construction, function. (Adámková)
- Sensory system: construction, function. Final summary of the subject. (Adámková)

- Directions, plane body posture, movement in the joints.
- Joints - structure, range of motion, walking.
- The muscles of the upper limbs and trunk.
- The muscles of the lower limbs.
- Digestive system - structure, function, principles of digestion, hernia.
- Respiratory system - structure and function.
- Cardiovascular system - structure and function.
- Excretory system - structure and function.
- Overview of endocrine glands. Reproductive system.
- Central nervous system - structure and function.
- Peripheral nervous system - structure.
- Skin.
- Visual and auditory system.

Training day: Lectures Tuesday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Exercise 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Aims

The subject focuses on the gaining of basic knowledge of the construction and structure of the locomotive system, and knowledge of the construction and structure of the individual organs and systems.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The subject is divided into lectures and practical lessons. Lectures and practical lessons are compulsory. The subject will end with a written test. A student's absence from any lesson must be duly excused and a substitute lesson taken as agreed with the head of the subject.
