Airport II

The course entitled Airport II is a follow up to the course Airport I and it extends the knowledge of legislative, operational and technical conditions of the airport traffic in Czech Republic. The course is based on Annex 14 and Annex 16 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with the legislative, operational and technical conditions of the airport traffic in the Czech Republic. They will learn of scientific aerial terminology related to airports.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course-unit credit requirements: passing the test (75 % at the minimum), the test results are discussed with students. The exam has an oral part only, based on a set of three lot-drawn questions. If the answers are not appropriate, an additional question may be asked.

Aims

The goal is to extend the knowledge of the airport as an element of the air traffic, and of operating and technical requirements for the infrastructure and airport operation in accordance with the current legislation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at both lectures and seminars is compulsory (80% at the minimum), and it is checked and recorded. The absence (in justifiable cases) can be compensated by personal consultation with the lecturer and working out individually assignments. Individual assignments must be finished and handed in during the course-unit credit week at the latest.
