Bioanalytical Methods

Methods of cell analysis. Isolation of nucleic acids. Spectrophotometric evaluation of DNA quality. Separation of nucleic acids by electromigration and chromatographic methods. DNA fragmentation by restriction enzymes. Artificial restriction systems. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Other amplification methods. DNA/DNA hybridization and DNA probes. Fluorescence in situ hybridization - FISH. Chips. Chemical synthesis of DNA. Sequencing of nucleic acids. Carriers with immobilized ligands in molecular diagnostics. Distinguishing of live and dead cells. Application of chromatographic methods in microorganisms identification. QSAR. Bioinformatics (sequences analysis).

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.
