Learning outcomes of the course unit

A student acquires a preliminary thesis on diploma thesis, is introduced in recent technical development of railway constructions and structures.

Prerequisites

Railway structures and constructions, railway stations and junctions, urban railway transport, transportation systems

Co-requisites

Dynamical analysis of rail track constructions, measuring technique and modelling and stability of rail track, legislation in railway transport, components of railway junctions for passenger and goods traffic.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is kept in a form seminars and individual consultations. The students' work is completed by specified individual work, work assigned for individual study with the active participation of students. Excursions to the construction sites or to manufacturers are organized.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course is completed with a credit, whose acquisition is conditional on attendance on presentations of student projects and a presentation of development of the diploma thesis.

3.-7. Seminars for topical issues of railway structures and construction technology.
8.-10. Completion and defence seminar thesis with the same theme as diploma thesis.
