Basics of practical applications of GNSS in geodesy. Observation planning. Measurement methods (static, Stop&Go, kinematic).
Real time methods (RTK).
Processing of measured GNSS data with software Leica Geo Office in WGS-84 and ETRF-89 systems.
Data transformation into cartographic projection (S-JTSK).
Use of data from permanent stations.
Practical applications of GNSS in geodesy.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Acquaintance with global navigation satelliote systems (GNSS) technology, methodology of measurement and data processing. Getting extended practical experience of GPS observation and processing. Measurement with use of permanent networks (CZEPOS).

Prerequisites

Fundamentals of geodetic astronomy and space geodesy.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at practical classes is compulsory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Attendance in accordance with BUT Rules for Studies. Submission and acceptance of single tasks protocols.

2. Methods of GPS surveys.
3. Practical GPS applications.
4. GPS receiver and antenna.
5. GPS data logging and transfer.
6. Practical GPS surveying 1 - Static
7. Practical GPS surveying 2 - Kinematic
8. Practical GPS surveying 3 - RTK
9. Processing of GPS data. Transfer of results to S-JTSK system.
10. Leica SKI-Pro, LGO - GPS processing software.
11. Practical GPS processing 1.
12. Practical GPS processing 2.
