Diploma Seminar I (V-VHO)

In the frame of the diploma thesis seminar students take up with the details their specific theme of graduation theses. They collect input data and materials for their graduation theses that they would not be able to obtain later during short time for development of the theses. Each of the students is led by his supervisor who defines contain and range of the subject.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student completing the course will learn to solve the problems and the individual requirements of sewerage, sewarage, wastewater treatment, water supply, waste management, swimming pools and engineering networks.
The result is a processing of the diploma thesis according to individual requirements of contain and range, who definies diploma supervisor.

Prerequisites

chemistry and water technology, design of civil constructions, sewerage Systems, treatment of wastewater, engineering networks

Co-requisites

Professional communication with water companies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Presentation of the main outcomes of the diploma thesis.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Mandatory participation in seminars (only allowed two excused absence), delivered continuously work of exercises deadlines.

Course curriculum

1.-13. Collecting of the literature and papers for preparation, realization and, if necessary, measurements for the diploma thesis.

Aims

The aim of the diploma’s seminar is to elaborate the diploma thesis according to individual specification that is defined by the supervisor of the diploma’s seminar.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.

Recommended optional programme components

The study of recommended websites of producers and suppliers of water treatment technologies, wastewater treatment plants, pipe materials, fittings and valves.
Seminars and conferences.
Trade fairs and exhibitions.
