Learning outcomes of the course unit

In the frame of the bachelor seminar students gain the knowledge and skill to finalize the bachelor thesis. The goal of the bachelor seminar is further to learn the presentation of their work, which helps the students with the presentation of the finalized bachelor thesis in front of the professional commitee. Last but not least the bachelor seminar has the task to repeat the knowledge of the subjects examined at the final examinations.

Prerequisites

Complete highway route design, computation of highway geometry, materials and technologies for the road and motorway construction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Lectures, individual consultations a presentation of srudent works.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The subject pass those students, who present their semi-finished bachelor thesis. Further condition is successful passing of two tests.

Course curriculum

1. Information about bachelor work topics, information about literature sources for individual seminar work. Oraganization issues, terms. Information about form and appearance and about processing of the bachelor work.
2. Discussion and choice of issues for bachelor work and seminar work.
3. to 5. Individual preliminary work.
6. to 7. Presentation of the chosen issue, establishing of the work objectives.
8. to 12. Processing of the bachelor work, consultations with teachers and other specialists.
13. to 14. Presentation of the bachelor work.

Basic knowledge of road design, technology and laboratory work, competence for bachelor diploma work.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
