Bachelor seminar

FAST-BP53Acad. year: 2013/2014

This bachelor seminar aims to more in detail exploration of the discrete topic, which is elaborated in the frame of bachelor work. Students are also supposed to obtain and collect input data and reference materials necessary for elaboration of the bachelor work, which are available in the limited time. The seminar always leads a supervisor of the bachelor work of the particular student, who also set up a content and range of the seminar.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student completing the course will learn to solve the problems and the individual requirements of sewerage, sewarage, wastewater treatment, water supply, waste management, swimming pools and engineering networks.
The result is a processing of the bachelor thesis according to individual requirements of contain and range, who definies bachelor supervisor.

Prerequisites

chemistry and water technology, design of civil constructions, sewerage Systems, treatment of waste water, engineering networks

Co-requisites

Professional communication with water companies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Presentation of the main outcomes of the bachelor thesis.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Mandatory participation in seminars (only allowed two excused absence), delivered continuously work of exercises deadlines.

Course curriculum

1.-14. Collecting of the literature and papers for preparation, realization and, if necessary, measurements for the bachelor work.

Aims

The aim of the bachelor’s seminar is to elaborate the bachelor’s thesis according to individual specification that is defined by the supervisor of the bachelor’s seminar.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.

Recommended optional programme components

The study of recommended websites of producers and suppliers of water treatment technologies, wastewater treatment plants, pipe materials, fittings and valves.
Seminars and conferences.
Trade fairs and exhibitions.
