Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will learn the basic legal concepts, legal order of the Czech Republic as a whole and the system of legal norms in the Czech Republic. After completing the course, students will gain knowledge in the field of public construction law, will be familiar with the Building Act and its implementing regulations. The issue of expropriation in expropriation proceedings under the Expropriation Act and the rules of administrative offenses will be discussed. They will be provided with information on ways of conducting business by individuals and legal entities in the construction industry as well as basic labor relations.

Prerequisites

The course builds on the knowledge gained at secondary school and develops the legal knowledge gained in the 1st year of Bachelor's degree.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The information will be passed on in the form of lecture. In the exercises students will work in groups and individually. Each student will individually prepare a presentation at the assigned topic.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Each student will give a presentation on an assigned topic. Knowledge of the topics will be checked in a test which consists of a written and oral part.

Lectures:
1.Basic consepts.Law system its development and place in the world context,and seen as a part of "European Law".
2.The place of the buildung law in the systems of administative law,its content and principles,its relation to implementation regulations signifucant in buildung branches.
3.Building law ist content and significance.Survey 3.and 4.part building law.
4.Survey the pursue notice to inplementation on 3.and 4.part building law.(number:137/1998 of enviromental impacts).
5.Legal regulation in the field of torts and other administrative wrongs caused by individuals and legal entities in the from of penalties(5.part of building law).
6.Expropration of real estatein expropriation proceedings(part 5. of building law and number 184/2006 of enviromental impacts.)
7.Building authorities.Law on the assessement of enviromental impacts.
8.Business of individuals and legal entities in building industry under Civil and Commercial Codes and Trade Act.
9.Business based on the "authorisation"under the law on the Chamber of Authorised Professions in Building.(number 360/1992 of enviromental inpacts.)
10.Enterprise of individuals in building.General and specific conditions of enterprise.
11.Enterprise of legal entities in buildung.Establishment,alterations and dissolution of legal entities.Commercial Register.
12.Contracts in building.Nominate contracts under Civil and Commercial Codes.Innominate contracts.
13.Basic labour-law relations.Employment contracts and agreements in building industry.Requirements of the employment contract.

Aims

Basic legal concepts and the system of legal norms.Getting general knowledge especially of the building law and its implementation regulations of possibilities and methods of busines in building industry.Providing information of the system of nominate and innominate contracts and their application in practice.
