Diploma Seminar I (V-VHK)

In the frame of the diploma thesis seminar students take up with the details their specific theme of graduation theses. They collect input data and materials for their graduation theses that they would not be able to obtain later during short time for development of the theses. Each of the students is led by his supervisor who defines contain and range of the subject.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Work on the project from the selected topics of the landscape water management by individual supervisor of the diploma thesis requirements. The result of seminars is diploma thesis printed and oral defended before the committee at the final state exam.

Prerequisites

Knowledge from the water management and water structures according to individual requirements of supervisor of diploma thesis.
Especially knowledge from Reservoirs and Water Management Systems, Ponds, Flood Control Measures, Chemistry and Water Technology, Sewage Water Treatment, Chemistry and Technology of Water Treatment, Soil Science and Irrigation

Co-requisites

According to individual topics of diploma thesis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Work on the
Examinations.
Work on the Diploma thesis, consultations with the supervisor, preparation of the Power Point presentation of The Diploma thesis.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Regular consultations with the supervisor, submission of thesis and credit.

Course curriculum

1.-13. Collecting of the literature and papers for preparation, realization and, if necessary, measurements for the diploma thesis.

Aims

The aim of the diploma’s seminar is to elaborate the diploma thesis according to individual specification that is defined by the supervisor of the diploma’s seminar.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
