Student will know the basic mathematical apparatus for results classification in biological and biochemical area and its application in Excel.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 1 teaching hour per week, seminars - 1 teaching hour per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

1) Basic statistical concepts and methods
2) Point estimates of mean
3) Interval estimates of mean
4) An assessment of the accuracy and precision of the results
5) Testing remoteness
6) Universal statistical tests
7) Testing the effectiveness of Biologicals
8) Correlation variables
9) Linear regression and the linearity test
10) Application of linear regression in the biotech practice
11) Polynomial regression to determine the degree of the polynomial
12) Systematization and elimination of errors

Aims

The aim of Biostatistics is to master the basic principles of evaluation and processing of biological processes results. To understand the common and different elements of biological and chemical view. The ability to apply basic statistical tests.
