Laboratory Classes in Bioengineering

The content of subject are practical tasks of Bioengineering I. solving biorector operations (mixing, aeration, etc.) and cultivation possibilities (batch, fed-batch and continuous system).

Students will gain practical knowledge generally required from a wide field of bioengineering.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Laboratory exercise - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Participation in seminars, protocols to elaborate and hand over for all tasks, term paper, the final test.

1. Introduction to Practice (week 1)
2. The growth curve (week 2-4)
3. The rate of absorption of oxygen (week 5-6)
4. Temperature profile bioreactor (week 7-8)
5. The delay time (week 9-10)
6. Gas stop filter (week 11-12)
7. Test (week 13)

Aims

The aim is to introduce for students practical bioengineering techniques in laboratory conditions and a better understanding of previously acquired theoretical knowledge of bioengineering.
