Practical Experience 1

The course is focused on verification of the theoretical knowledge applied to concrete conditions of entrepreneurial sphere or legislative environment. Students should apply general methods such as observation, comparison, and analogy and using them work out a written report according to the assigned task.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student is given possibilities to apply the theoretical knowledge to specific tasks under industrial conditions. Student will be made familiar with particular problems that may be chosen as objectives of bachelor thesis.

Prerequisites

The course is a follow-up to all completed courses related to the economic areas, technical disciplines; informatics and law.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Professional practice serves to deepen the knowledge and skills acquired through study and verification their application in practice also serves to update knowledge and familiarity with the methods of work especially in institutions outside the university,

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The graded course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having submitted written reports in size of 18 000 chains according to assignment, presented and defended them answering teacher’s questions.

Course curriculum

Students will be made familiar with practical approaches of managerial decision making in manufacturing conditions of entrepreneurial area. The objective of the course is to verify student’s theoretical knowledge acquired in the basic courses of his/her major in operation management. Practice will be focused on student’s introduction to entrepreneurialship in manufacturing company, with the main emphasis on the field of economics, informatics, technologies and management production processes. The objective of the course is evaluation of business of manufacturing firm from operation point of view; process management; financial; personal and environmental side also.

Student will assemble written report, which will contain basic identification information; legal form, inc. characteristics of business legal form. Student will describe range of products and products category. Student will evaluate and analyse sourcing process of production factors, markets when is firm operating and its interaction on results of business operations and receiving of sustainable development of firm. Student will describe standardization of production preparation and others aspects of operation management; operational problems - what kind of problem does the firm have in daily operations the most frequently.

Student is given possibility to apply the theoretical knowledge to specific tasks under industrial conditions.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students will be given individual assignments, which state the name of organization, responsible person in the organization, and the contact to this person. Student’s placement in the organization may be inspected by the tutors who can contact the responsible person. Student may set a different term of placement by the agreement with the tutor.

On dependence on concrete production process evaluate environmental eventually others important aspects of business.
Describe in detail your daily working activities in the firm.
