The course present advanced concepts od production management with emphasis on strategic level. It will be explained ways of concept's implementation, planning methods, modern ways to optimising approaches of product plans and production rations.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students obtain complete compendium of advance concepts of production management, methods used in the frame of these concepts and their implementation into praxe. They will be made familiar with planning and scheduling methods and optimising og production plans.

Prerequisites

Students should have fundamental knowledge of operational management, quality control, math, statictics and operational and system analysis methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course contains lectures that explain basic principles, problems and methodology of the discipline, and exercises that promote the practical knowledge of the subject presented in the lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit are team presentation of semestr project and credit test with result minimal 40%.

Aims

The aim of the course is to gain knowledge of modern concepts of production management with emphasis on strategic level. Students learn operational management methods, planning theory, optimising methods and implementation methodology leading to effective and lean production. Students will be able to creatively participate in conducting of changes in manufacturing processes through analytical tools and computer simulation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at lectures is not compulsory, but is recommended. Attendance at seminars is compulsory and controled. Absence from seminars can be compensated for consultations with the tutor. Working out the semestr project is systematically controled by tutor during semestr.

Practicals are focused to application of knowledge from lectures during sequential processing of individual semestr project and its realisation through computer simulation.
Definition of besiness and production strategy.
Technical documentation, optimising methods of production design.
Creation of production and material plans using advanced planning methods gained to stability of plans.
Application of advanced concepts of production management.
Programming of computer model for developed production system.
Presentation of semestr project.
