Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course objective is to make students familiar with the basic design procedures of process equipment and connecting strength analyses, manufacture and assembly of process equipment.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge from elasticity and strength of structures, theory of materials and details of machines.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Course-unit credit requirements: Active attendance at seminars. The exam has written and oral parts, the student has to prove acquired theoretical and practical knowledge.

Course curriculum

Not applicable.

Work placements

Not applicable.

Aims

The course provides students with the basic completed survey about process equipment and their design, used calculation methods and their operational conditions. Special attention is paid to individual procedures used in the European Union.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Active attendance at seminars is checked. The written report has to be worked out when a seminar was missed. This report has to be produced for verification.
