Laboratory Work in Energy Sector

FSI-LL0Acad. year: 2014/2015

The students will be familiarized with basic principles of laboratory work and methods used in power engineering and electrical power engineering (e.g. fuel analysis and determination of constituents (water volume, ash volume, lower calorific value), boiler efficiency, device characteristics – compressor etc.). The course is realized as a week-long under the patronage of Energy Institute and Power Engineering Institute at BUT FME, CTU in Prague and VŠB-TU Ostrava and CV Řež. The students will complete laboratory assignments in groups and will have a chance to familiarize themselves with assignments that have use in different fields of power engineering, like electric and nuclear engineering. All laboratory assignments that students complete are based on real applications used in actual power engineering and electrical power engineering. Laboratory assignments will take place at chosen laboratory workplaces.
