Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain an overview of renewable and non-renewable energy sources. The acquired knowledge will enable them to objectively assess the possibility of all energy sources. They are better able to identify clear-cut unrealistic claims of proponents and opponents of renewable and non-renewable energy sources.

Prerequisites

Dams and utilization of hydro power energy, River training and weirs, Reservoirs and water systems, Water supply

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Lectures by teacher with prepared presentations, students will create two custom presentations and will present a paper on selected topics, excursions to the real plant.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Attendance at lectures and seminars, the creation of two presentations and presentation of papers on selected topics, demonstrate knowledge in the final test.
