Nondestructive and semi-destructive diagnostics methods.
Methods of monitoring and current state of construction quantification in light of used materials durability and construction lifetime.

Quality management in civil engineering production, quality control possibilities and building produce quality guarantee regarding to building produce specification. Considering to expected entry into EU associated with increased interests about equivalence of accordance issue and system accordance assessment certification of products is subject ranged on legislative in EU in the field of responsibility and safety of produce, metrology, accreditation, etc.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Basic requirements for construction.
Simple Quality Management Tools.
Design Of Experiment (DOE) and Quality Function Deployment (QFD).
Statistical quality control methods.
Evaluation, assessment and interpretation of test results.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge about building testing methods, basic knowledge in description statistics, basic overview of certified controlling systems in building production.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures, presentations,LMS Moodle, seminar work.
Students in the education block exercises follow the lecture in which they apply their knowledge to real case studies from practice.
During the work process gradually semester seminar paper at the end of the semester advocate.

Credit: Completion of at least 12 exercises, 50 min points of seminar work
Exam: Defence seminar work

1.-2. Recapitulation of diagnostic testing methods in building recapitulation.
3.-4. Overview and description of modern testing methods of building materials properties assessment.
5. Non-destructive and semi-destructive testing methods.
6.-7. Methods of monitoring and quantification of current state of construction from the point of view of durability and construction lifetime.
8.-10. Technical requests on building products, assessment of accordance by mutual testing, normalizing and metrology connection.
11.-12. Quality management in civil engineering production, quality control possibilities and building produce quality guarantee regarding to building produce specification.
13.Legislative in EU in the field of responsibility and safety of produce, metrology, accreditation.

Aims

Abilities and know–how in the field of controlling, measuring, monitoring, analysing and improving of processes and products in building companies conditions and requirements on accredited building testing laboratories competency.
Subject is conceived as correspond to harmonized scheme of EFQM educating and make the possibility for students to obtain basic skills and knowledge for inner quality auditor grade or quality control consultant.
