Project Management of Building Constructions II

FAST-TV08Acad. year: 2014/2015

In the subject students will deepen and diversify their knowledge from the subject Project Management I. Attention is focused on construction projects from the aspect of buildings contractors. Part of the education is construction and technological preparation dealing with construction process and methods of construction. In detail it is solved the flow method and associated balancing and linking of particular flows. Part of the education it is a proposal and realization of construction site. With the building realization it is connected project controlling, assurance of quality, safety and health protection, protection of environment. Students work with the software Contec.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain another general knowledge and skills of project management. They will learn specific techniques and methods in construction project management. They manage flow planning method, using spatio-temporal graph for the term, resource, costs and financial construction planning. They acquaint with the program Contec. All forms the knowledge base for the realization of projects for the contractor.
Obtained knowledge is the precondition for certification of students to a project manager in the Czech Republic according to the principles International Project Management Association (IPMA) level D "Certified Project Management Associate".

Prerequisites

Managed basics of project management, phasing of projects associated with construction, content and methods of planning and realization of constructions, technology of building production and basics of network analysis.

Co-requisites

Knowledge about basic principles and relations in management and managerial habits.
The ability to apply individual processes of carcass substructure and superstructure and finishing projects.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching is divided into lectures and seminars.
PowerPoint presentation is prepared at every lecture by lecturer. Basic depiction ideas are developed further orally. Discussed theory is by options completed by brief examples, diagrams, pictures or graphs. Partial block of teaching is at the end of a brief summary and control questions verify its understanding. At the end of the lecture, students are invited to discuss.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Study of the course is concluded by credit and examination.
Credit is given after completion of all obligations, i.e. attendance, submission of partial assignments and successfully passed credit written work.
The exam consists of written and oral part. Attendance at the test is conditioned by awarded credit. The written test consists of five questions. After a positive evaluation an oral examination follows with the debate over the three issues, which are selected from previously known list.
