Creative studio work is the main and essential means of teaching architecture. It is based on the "learning by doing" method, i.e. gaining knowledge and skills by practical application. It consists in the dialogue of the teacher with the student over a project that is being developed. The subject covers thematically the module Urban architecture. This module is defined for each academic year and is focused primarily on the creation of urban residential environment.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Gaining fundamental information on the creation of an architectural interior space, and basic orientation in the creative artistic disciplines, the role of which in architectural composition is indispensable. This information is presented by an architectural study - design and a model study (visualisation, animation), including worked out details (structural details, design details, etc.]

Prerequisites

Successful mastering of the subject requires the completion of subjects taught in previous study, which put emphasis on the logic and hierarchy of indispensable information and experience needed for the work of a creative architect.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Submission of an assigned studio work of an agreed upon contents.

Course curriculum

Semester is divided to the time sections determinate action critical discussion above in course of manufacture projectthat the sympathetic except all students and teachers also invited specialists.

Aims

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The work on the studio design lasts 13 weeks, and is conducted in form of the student's consultation with the teacher. The time for consultation is set in the schedule. Excused missed teaching can be made up for by agreement with the work's leader.
