Building Structures, Environment and Energy

Optional subject "Diagnosis of the building environment", analyzes the building from the perspective of ensuring the appropriate thermal and visual comfort, with an emphasis on optimum design of structural elements and construction details related to the internal environment. In lectures and seminars and introduces students to the principles of optimal design of transparent and non-transparent structures, as with other parameters describing the internal environment of buildings.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Classified credit, the form provides for Studies and Examinations of BUT and Dean FA VUT.

Course curriculum

Lectures and seminars: The principles of technical solutions to structural elements and details of buildings in terms of construction and physical requirements.
Connection between the various technical disciplines, analysis and synthesis of partial knowledge and its application to concrete construction project.
Individual work with students and development of knowledge and information seminar will be conducted through.

1. Design and assesment of structural details, software support
2. Thermal stability of a room in winter
3. Thermal stability of a room in summer, shading
4. Energy efficiency and its evaluation within current legislative, duties of an author of a project documentation
5. Assesment of low-energy and passive houses - current requirements
6. Assesment of daylighting of residential buildings - special cases
7. Assesment of daylighting of industriac buildings
8. Artificial lighting

Aims

The aim is to gain knowledge and principles of technical solutions to the individual building blocks in relation to the internal environment of buildings civic, residential, industrial and agricultural, and that the future architect should know for his successful collaboration with specialists.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Lessons are held in the semester cycle of lectures and seminars. The decisive factor is the active participation of students in the preparation of documents related to the topics discussed technical solutions to structural details of buildings and develop a defense seminar work.
The form provides for the replacement of Study and Examination Regulations and Dean BUT BUT FA.
