Learning outcomes of the course unit

New approach to industrial heritage. Perception of its significance in urban development programs. Cooperation with municipalities and with a wide range of specialists - sociologists, ecologists,economists....

Prerequisites

Knowledge in the field of protection of cultural heritage, orientation in the Monument Protection Act.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit is granted on the basis of the student's attendance at lectures, and active participation in workshops.

2. Converting - part of developing programmes cities.
3. Ostrava - extractive industry, steelmaking in urban design structure cities. Industrial
architecture like reflection exaltation and depression industry.
4. Ostrava - excursion
5. German experience - Emscher Park, Duisburg, Volklingen.
6. Zlin - modelling industrial town based T. Bata. Search waies wardships and salvages,
monumental zone.
7. Zlin - excursion
8. Fate European satellite realized T. Bata. Industrial archaeology, instances
Nestle Noisel -France, Grande Horn - Belgium.
9. Brno - textile and engineering industry - motor development cities period industrialization.

Aims

The objective is to prepare the young generation of architects for work on the conservation of areas and buildings of the period of industrialisation and their reintegration by means of new functions into the historic urban structure.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The problems dealt with require students'attendance of lectures, individual presentations and analyses of examples of endangered industrial areas of South Moravia.
