Course detail

Computer Aided Technology

FSI-DPPAcad. year: 2015/2016

Students will be made familiar with mostly exploited regions of computer support in technology. The objective focuses on the application of the knowledge in the field of forming, informatics and also other related branches in the course of elaborating an project on a given topic. The basic part of the subject is the work with simulation software using the Finite Element Method and mastering the fundamentals of using software in direct support of technologists work. Mastering the work with above-mentioned software enable assessing of conditions of next data necessary to determine optimum technology for required part. In the area of heat treatment of material the simulation results can be used to determine the usefulness of technological operation. The students will acquire basic experience in production design.

Aims

The objective of the course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and information from the field of possibilities of computer support utilisation in technology and to acquire bases of a working manner in particular areas of this subject. The students will have a view of what they can expect from computer support results in practice. Students are confronted with the latest results of research.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit: participation in exercises, fulfilling the assignments, and submitting written reports of required content and form. If this condition is not satisfied, the teacher may in justified cases set a make-upcondition.
