The main content of the course is a review of the systems of safety management (occupational health and safety, prevention of serious accidents, information safety) and the procedures of auditing these systems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course allows the students to take up on the knowledge obtained in previous studies in the field of quality management and reliability and to broaden it with the given fields.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of mathematics and management of quality and reliability in the extent of previous studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is expected.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. The excursion can be included into the teaching plan.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Requirements for course-unit credit award: active participation in lectures and seminars, semestral work elaboration, test; in justified cases, the lecturer may set alternative requirements.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with implementation and management of a system of safety (occupational health and safety, prevention of serious accidents, information safety, environmental safety) and its integration with other control systems.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

In justified cases alternative form of tuition, solution of individual semestral project.
