Regeneration, Reconditioning and Rehabilitation

The subject expands the gained knowledge and provides further information and skills regarding regeneration, reconditioning and rehabilitation, from psychology and the basics of mental hygiene.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students gain theoretical and practical skills that will enable them to discover physical problems and find a way back to a normal life through optimally selected regeneration, reconditioning and rehabilitation funds.

Exercises promote the practical mastery of subject presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Graded credit:
Graded credit: Active participation in seminars (30%), midterm test (40%) and essay (30%).

Course curriculum

- Basic terms - regeneration, fatigue, recuperation
- Means of regeneration (mainly nutrition and drinking regime, physical and balneological means, movement, psychological means).
- Forms of regeneration.
- Issues connected with the weakening of the organism - injuries, operations, diseases, excessive weight and inactivity.
- Stress, how to face it and overcome it.
- Importance of reconditioning and regeneration.
- Individual and group exercises.
- Equipment of exercise halls for reconditioning exercises. Equipment of reconditioning corners and zones. Use of gyms for reconditioning.
- Reconditioning and aerobic activities.
- Massage - characteristics and its importance, aim and effects.
- Kinds of massage: examples of some massage techniques.
- Massage aids, the masseur and the surroundings, supplementary massage aids and machines, contraindications.
- Self-massage. Other regeneration techniques.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to gain theoretical and mainly practical skills from the field of fitness - wellness, relaxation, regeneration and rehabilitation techniques. To learn to induce a feeling of well-being and relaxation. To learn how to discover movement problems in individuals and look for a way to return them to living a full life via optimally chosen means of regeneration, reconditioning and rehabilitation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Practical lessons are compulsory. The subject will be classified by a credit. Any absence must be duly excused and substituted for after an agreement with the head of the subject.
