Enterprise Economics

Economics of company consider basic theoretic knowledge from the corporate economy theme.

It is focusing mostly on dilemma concerning company’s main functions and topics as functioning and organization structure, financing, processing, capital appreciation and business evaluation, classification of costs together with costing methods, investment, calculations, controlling and personnel administration. Further students will be able to gain company’s economy knowledge connected to each field of company’s activity. Concerning the gained course knowledge and as part of the course evaluation, students should be able to apply it to concrete company’s activity, process or to try to solve the problem in specific field of the company’s activity.

Students will be able to gain company’s economy knowledge connected to each field of company’s activity.
Concerning the gained course knowledge and as part of the course evaluation, students should be able to apply it to concrete company’s activity, process or to try to solve the problem in specific field of the company’s activity.

There is expectation to have general knowledge of economics

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures consist of an explanation of basic principles, methodology of the discipline, problems and their solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Knowledge is verified by a written examination. For the written exam the student receives two computational examples and four technical questions of a theoretical part defined by lectures in the field of enterprise economics. The student is awarded the classification according to the grading scale ECTS max score of 70 points.
There is also one control test.
Passing the control test: 30 points
Minimum number of points: 17 points.
Correction term is the only one in the credit week.

Topics lectures are as follows:
- Basic information, substance of company and entrepreneurship.
Historical development of company and entrepreneurship.
- Typology company. Surroundings company. Foundation company - budget.
- Property and capital structure of the company
- Property pricing and capital
- Costs and Revenues their classification
- Costing. Controlling.
- Economic results and their classification .Production activity of the company
- Shopping. Market (marketing).Publicity
- Investment activity and Financial Management of the company
- Economic informative system company(accounting,budgets,analyses).
- Company strategy
- Specific economics
Each seminar builds on the previous lecture with an emphasis on practical training of lectures.
1.,2. Starting a business-plan (basic structure).
Assets and capital. Balance Sheet. Operating and net capital. Cost of capital (WACC). Liquidity. Indebtedness.
3.,4. Profit and loss. The structure and calculation results. Business performance-ROE, ROI, ROA, ROS, IN.
5.,6. Financial activity-turning cycle of money. Inventory management, accounts receivable. CASH
FLOW. Investment activity-time value of money, DN, IR, NPV, VVP. Economic Value Added-EVA.
7.,8. TEST I, Calculation of the full cost (division, with evaluative numbers, overhead rates). Pricing. The tipping point. Establishment of the budget.
9.,10. Human Resources - calculation of wages. The calculation of labor productivity.

Students will be able to gain company’s economy knowledge connected to each field of company’s activity. Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

There is one control test during the semester. In the case of excused absence from seminars, teacher in justified cases set a condition alternative task.
