Business Management

FP-FpmPAcad. year: 2015/2016

To deepen and widen studens knowledge of management and acquaint them with contemporary management methods. The attention will be also paid to historical owerview of managemnt, deepening knowledge of the skills of managers in working with people such as leadership, time management, team work, measurement in management, managerial models, process and project aproaches and some foreign experience.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students be made familiar with the modern approach to and application of management including development connections and possibilities of leading of employees, time organizing, process management, managerial model aplication.

Prerequisites

Knowledge acquired in the course Corporate Management I: planing, organizing, leadership, control.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching consists of lectures, which consist of an explanation of discipline, content, terms, structure and methods. The exercises are aimed at the practical side of the lectured topics.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

For reaching credit is required to successful treatment of semester work at a predetermined time and active participation in exercises during the presentation and subsequent discussion of the seminar work.
During the semester, the individual activities of the exercises are evaluated by a point system, which is updated each semester by the types of tasks.
Students have the opportunity to earn points for:
• individual term project
• Team presentation on the topic
• processing issues from the case studies
• test
• Correction - additional individual project.

Examination Requirements: knowledge of of taught topics and its practical applications.
Form of examination: written, oral examination the examiner decides on the basis of a written test.
The exam is classified according to ECTS.

Aims

The main objective of the course is to provide students knowledges of modern approach to and application of management, basic concepts, content, structure and practical application. The course is also recommended approaches needed to address management problems especially at the level of corporate organization type. The course is a follow-up to Corporate Management I

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Checking of results of semester project, results of the processing of presentation topics, check the results of the knowledge test.
In case of excused absence from seminars, the teacher can set an additional condition if appropriate, usually elaboration of partial written task.

The seminars are focused on practising the lectured topics and elaboration of case studies (both individually and in teams).
